1. CONTEXT
SODEICO Sarl, a company specializing in the recruitment and provision of qualified personnel, is recruiting on behalf of one of their clients for a Program funded by USAID/BHA (United States Agency for International Development/Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance) an Enterprise Growth Lead. The client is a global humanitarian organization that works with people in poverty and distress to create justice and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible actions. For this position Based in Kasai, DRC; the client seeks passionate, engaged and experienced candidate who embodies values of connectedness, courage and compassion.

2. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The Enterprise Growth Lead will report to the Purpose One Lead.

3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) In collaboration with the project Purpose One Lead
The Enterprise Growth Lead will be responsible to:

  • Identify and select local BDS providers for training and technical assistance on business skill and technical skills
  • Build network of Business Development Service (BDS) Providers
  • Support, coordinate, and document competitive grants to local enterprises and IGAs
  • Coordinate and support trainings on business skills, and technical skills, by BDS providers
  • Support establishment of business incubators 
  • Support implementation of Market Information System 
  • Facilitate capacity building of market actors to respond to market demand, requirement, and efficiency in service delivery
  • Support Network analysis of actors in the primary value chain of activity
  • Facilitate linkage between value chain actors
  • Support training of IGAs and enterprises on value addition processes
  • Facilitate training of agrodealers and their suppliers to meet market demand for agricultural inputs and equipment
  • Coordinate vouchers and cash grant with official service (e.g Provincial Ministry of Agriculture)
  • Support the supply of Climate Sustainable A inputs

b) Monitoring of activity and reporting

  • Update and track with M&E Manager the progress towards business goals and plans for Farmers Marketing Groups, Households enterprises and IGAs
  • Provide routine oversight and analysis of delivery data to M&E Manager
  • Undertake with the support of BDS providers review of training materials and delivery process to ensure effectiveness of training on business skill and technical skill
  • Develop and annually update the list of Business Development Services providers
  • Ensure monitoring (follow up) of activities and regularly provide reports to Lead One
  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual activity reports to Lead One
  • Report on incidents during follow up of activities

c) Financial management

  • Forecast expenses, grants, and purchases in advance
  • Ensure appropriate compliance with the client rules and regulations
  • Manage project resources under his/her responsibility with transparency, probity, and efficiency
  • Respect the budget lines and avoid budget overruns

d) Planification/Reporting

  • Plan weekly and monthly activities with Lead One
  • Contribute to the development of planning for the project's annual activities
  • Contribute to the quarterly and annual report of project activities
  • Support monitoring and evaluation with respect to data collection, data quality, project performance and progress
  • Contribute and assist in providing technical and guidance to the client
  • Ensure maintenance of the project files (administrative, financial, and programmatic)
  • Record lessons learned and ensure that they are shared in a timely manner

e) Representation

  • Participate at meetings and other activities of other projects funded by the client and other donors depending on the relevance of the activities
  • Establish and maintain solid and good relationships with project stakeholders (consortium, local authorities, project beneficiaries, etc.)

f) Logistics /Procurement /Quality Assurance

  • Comply with established procedures by the client
  • Plan grants on time
  • Support the procurement/purchase staff to ensure effective interface with suppliers’ quality systems
  • Support the quality review of project documents and deliverables
  • Ensure that quality of work packages and deliverables complies with the clientquality requirement

g) Personnel Management

  • Ensure that performance reviews of staff under his/her supervision are conducted fairly, accurately, and timely
  • Ensure safety and security for all project staff under his/her supervision
  • Comply with the client security procedures

h) Other responsibilities

  • Create, foster and role model a culture of respect and zero tolerance for discrimination, abuse of responsibility, harassment, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation
  • Treat all individuals with respect; respond sensitively to difference and encourage other to do the same
  • Ensure accountability for actions plans, as expected by the client
  • Express clearly and concisely ideas or facts
  • Actively listen and share knowledge

i) Humanitarian Accountability

  • Adhere and comply with humanitarian accountability principles and the client codes of conduct
  • Report and denounce all abuses according to the client procedures

4. BASIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Good organizational skills
  • Good oral and written communication, analytical, interpersonal, attention to details
  • Able to coach MSMEs and Business Development Service (BDS) provider
  • Able to work with the BDS providers
  • Able to develop and /or review an appropriate training package for training on business skills and technical skills
  • Ability to work in a team, communicate well, meet deadlines, and make recommendations for change
  • Have a sense of Creativity
  • Knowledge of market systems
  • Knowledge of enterprise development and Income generating activities
  • Knowledge of on farm, off farm and non-farm diversification of income and business activities

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Entrepreneurship, or any similar discipline
  • Minimum of Seven (7) years work experience in supervision position in international organism
  • Minimum of Five (5) years work experience in rural enterprise development and Income generating activities
  • Experience in international not-for-profit environment
  • Proven experience in leading enterprise development activity or Income generating activities intended to improve livelihoods
  • Proven experience strengthening business management skills for MSMEs and building capacity of business service providers
  • Experience strengthening market access and services for on and off-farm rural enterprises
  • Involvement in professional and business network related to rural enterprise, income generating activities, livelihood development and poverty alleviation

6. LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

  • Excellent command of English and good knowledge of French (written and spoken).

7. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
* Travel

  • Some local travel to project sites of activities

* Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner; to work as part of a team as well as to complete assignments independently; to take instructions from supervisors; to exercise problem-solving skills; and to interact with co-workers, supervisors, network employees, donors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner

8. COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Good computer skill (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
