We are looking for a Content Operator.

Our client, one of the leading browsers in Africa with amazing features and content, is looking to fill the post of Content Operator with a suitably qualified candidate. We are looking for bilingual people (French and English) familiar with journalistic news.

The job :

Main tasks and responsibilities :

1. Monitor, identify, and collect the latest news and popular topics, schedule daily push notifications based on user preferences
2.  Search, identify and source quality content
3.  Be familiar with bloggers, local and international media, be able to work on a content partnership
4. Analyze social media trends and user behavior, find good insights, then share with teams to improve the client’s browser app
5. Refresh the app daily and report inappropriate content.

Qualifications:

The job holder should have the following qualifications.

1. Hold a bachelor's degree (Bac+3) or higher, preferably in the field of journalism, media or communications, and able to use fluently speak English and French in a professional setting.
2. Have at least two (2) years of experience in the media industry (as a news editor, professional journalist, blogger)
3. Good knowledge of the local media industry or content sector, local influencers from various social media platforms.
4. Full-time work experience in top news agencies would be an asset.

The right person for the job:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies.

• Be passionate about social media, sensitive to local internet news and trends, familiar with local, African and global language and culture, have good knowledge of local user preferences and be able to provide information local
• Have good writing skills. Preferably be able to provide previous work (including but not limited to articles, videos, social accounts, personal websites, etc.).
• Master office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
• Frequently use content-related applications (Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.), preferably being familiar with the functionalities and characteristics of Phoenix content
• Internet connection and rapid response to business messages are mandatory requirements.
