United Nations: more restrictions on the acquisition of weapons imposed on the DRC

Kinshasa, December 20st, 2022 (CPA).- The United Nations Security Council adopted, on Tuesday, a resolution which puts an end to the restrictions imposed, since 2004, on the Democratic Republic of Congo on the acquisition of weapons, we learned from a diplomatic source.« The Security Council unanimously adopted two resolutions presented by France, » wrote the French representation at the United Nations on its Twitter account. « The mandate of Monusco (UN Mission in the DRC) is renewed for one year. The notification procedure for the supply of military equipment and assistance is lifted », indicated, moreover, the French representation.
