Luanda mini-summit decides to end M23 attacks from Friday

Kinshasa, November 23rd, 2022 (CPA) – The mini-summit on peace and security in the eastern region of DRC held on Wednesday in Luanda, Angola, decided on the cessation of attacks by M23, supported by Rwanda, against loyalist forces from next Friday.

“The mini-summit decided the cessation of hostilities in general, and in particular of M23 attacks against FARDC and MONUSCO from Friday November 25th, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.”, notes the final press release sanctioning this meeting convened at the invitation of the President. Angolan Joao Lorenzo, mediator appointed by SADC and AU in the conflict between DRC and Rwanda, an aggressor country.
