Kinshasa: people made aware of Monkey pox symptoms

Kinshasa, April 15th, 2023 (CPA) – The National Programme for the Control of Monkey pox and Viral Haemorrhagic Fevers (PNLMPX-FHV) in DRC is currently conducting a campaign to raise awareness among the population of Kinshasa of the signs of Monkey pox or monkey pox, according to a press release from this specialised programme of the Ministry in charge of Public Health, which was forwarded to CPA on Friday.

« Monkey pox manifests itself in humans by a high fever of sudden onset and skin rashes with lesions filled with liquid or pus that eventually dry out and form scabs. These lesions start on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet, and may even spread to the whole body, » said the PNLMPX. This campaign is being conducted particularly through leaflets and posters distributed to the population

Indeed, Monkey pox, a disease caused by a virus, is transmitted mainly through direct contact from a sick animal with or without signs..
