Brazzaville: forest management by indigenous women at the centre of a forum

Kinshasa, May 11th, 2023 (CPA) – The first sub-regional forum of indigenous women and local communities in Africa on their crucial role in community and traditional land and forest management is being held from May 9th to 12th, 2023 in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.

Raphael Mboyo, a member of the Network of Indigenous and Local Populations for the Sustainable Management of Forest Ecosystems in DRC (REPALEF/DRC), told CPA on Wednesday in Kinshasa.

This forum, he said, also aims to effectively maintain the environmental benefits of these women both locally and globally.
